Nanohealing!!!

Now there is a new way to heal wounds. This is called Nanohealing also known as the Ellis-Behnke liquid. This liquid has the ability to stop bleeding almost instantly. They are made of peptides that self-assemble into a fibrous mesh but to the naked eye it appears as a clear gel. IT was made by Rutledge Ellis-Behnke who worked on it in MIT labs. Originally, Ellis-Behnke intended to use the material to promote the healing of brain and spinal-cord injuries. To find out how this worked they experimented on brain-damaged hamsters to restore there vision. To show how this worked Elllis-Behnke once made a deep cut in the liver of a rat, intentionally slicing through a main artery.

This wonderous nano-material used is a true breakthrough in medicine. The nanoscale protein fragments (peptides) creates the clear gel that has the ability to stop bleeding almost instantly. Although this was initially intended to heal spinal tissue and damaged brains this substance was accidentally found to have a greater purpose in medicine.

This nanohealing is a wonderful discovery in medicine. The fact that it is able to stop bleeding instantly is an amazing discovery and can save many lives. Nano technology has been assential to our lives. Its amazing how this Ellis-Behnke liquid went from healing brain and spinal-sord injuires to healing much more.

nano technology is the future of medicine and, atleast the way I see it, all of technology. Advancements in nanotechnology will revolutionize how everything we do is done in extraordinary ways. Although this is exciting it is also a very scary idea where this technology as a whole can take us.

It is interesting that this material has been around since the 1990's and has only recently been found to have the ability to control blood. The two most immediate uses would be in operating rooms and on battle fields. In the meantime, it is still waiting for FDA approval.
